I spent about half an hour with shopwithai.chat. It is a single chat box: you describe what you want to buy, it thinks for a bit and comes back with two or three products, each with a photo, a price and a buy link. No account, no setup, you just type. For a first impression that is a good thing. The results themselves are the strong part. I asked for over-ear headphones under $150 with a decent mic for calls, and after a longish wait it gave me the Logitech Zone Vibe 100, the Soundcore Space One and the Soundcore Q20i. All three actually fit the brief. I tried again from scratch with "beginner espresso machine, small kitchen, around $300" and got the Breville Bambino at $299.95 and the De'Longhi Stilosa, which is exactly what you would expect a person to recommend. So the core job works. Everything around that core feels unfinished. While it is working it streams a wall of 120-plus product names with "evaluating relevance" next to each one, which is noise, not progress. The write-up above the cards does not always match the cards: two different headphones were both listed at $79.99, and the labels in the summary did not line up with the card titles. There is no way to see more than three results, sort them, compare them, or filter by price once the answer is on screen. The part that actually broke my session was a simple follow-up. I asked "which of these has the best mic, and are these prices current?" and instead of an answer I got a raw error printed into the chat: a 404 about a search tool and an internal note that a model was "no longer available." The conversation could not continue after that. I had to start over. A few smaller things: the input bar floats in the middle of the screen on desktop and covers one of the product cards, so the page looks half-broken. On mobile the "New Chat" and "Share" links disappear with no menu, so you cannot reset the conversation on a phone. The buy links are Amazon affiliate links with no mention anywhere that the site is monetised that way. And the public "shared chats" page has about a dozen entries, newest one four months old, which does not inspire much confidence that it is actively maintained. What I liked - No login, no onboarding, you are searching within five seconds - Product picks were genuinely sensible and stayed within the budget I gave - Clean, readable layout, real photos and prices on every card - Shows its work by naming the products it considered What I didn't like - Follow-up questions crashed and dumped a raw internal error into the chat - Prices look stale or wrong in places, and the summary text does not match the cards - Only ever two or three results, with no sort, filter, compare or "show more" - Floating input box overlaps the results on desktop - On mobile you cannot start a new chat at all - Affiliate links with no disclosure - Shared-chats page looks abandoned The idea is good and the recommendations are better than I expected, but the moment you do anything beyond a single question it falls apart. Right now it is a decent one-shot suggestion tool and not much more. Around 2.5 out of 5. I would check back in a few months.
