About this app

Promptclay (https://promptclay.com) is a free-to-copy prompt library and creator community for AI image and video models. People copy the exact prompt behind an image and use it in the model they already have, such as Gemini, ChatGPT or Midjourney. Promptclay never generates images itself. Every image shows its full prompt and the model it was made for, and one tap copies the prompt with no account needed. Collections group prompts by theme, such as portraits, cinematic stills, poster designs and product ads, and search finds prompts by subject, style or model. Creators can share prompts with the result image beside them, follow other creators, and remix with credit to the original prompt. Collabs let makers post what they need or answer a call from another maker, and it is free to apply. Pro adds a portfolio site that shows a creator's work and the prompts behind it, and it can run on their own domain.

Key features

  • 1Copy exact prompts behind AI images with no account required.
  • 2Collections group prompts by theme (portraits, cinematic, product ads).
  • 3Creator portfolios with custom domain (Pro plan).
  • 4Collabs board for makers to post needs and apply for free.
  • 5Keyboard shortcuts for fast navigation and search.

Target customer profile

Drawn from the product itself, not from a survey.

Demographic

AI art creators

Pain points

Hobbyists and working artists who make images and video with AI models try new styles often and do not want to start from a blank box.

Primary needs

Prompts known to give a certain look, the exact words behind an image they admire, and ideas for new styles, themes and formats.

Demographic

Makers and small brands

Pain points

Shop owners, freelancers, marketers and small teams need product shots, ads, posters and social posts without a big design budget.

Primary needs

Good looking product and ad visuals on a tight budget, with prompts that already work for packshots, hero shots and launch ads that they can change to fit their product.

Demographic

Social media users who want better photos of themselves

Pain points

Everyday people who want nicer profile pictures, portraits and holiday photos have no technical know-how.

Primary needs

Simple prompts for portraits and themed photos to paste into an AI app, in styles that suit the occasion such as headshots, golden hour portraits or holiday looks.

Demographic

Prompt creators who share and get hired

Pain points

People who write strong prompts want others to find and use them, and some want a following or paid work from brands and other creators.

Primary needs

A place to publish prompts with the result image beside them, an audience that can follow their newest work, and a way for people who like their work to reach them.

Scout Review

Written by AI from measured evidence, scored out of 100.

Promptclay is a fast, accessible prompt library with a clean feed and a genuinely user-friendly no-account copying model. Design and speed are solid; security is alarmingly thin, and growth is a bet on a broad audience. It's a promising early-stage tool that needs to lock down its backend before scaling.

Measure by measure

Usability

68

No-account copying, keyboard shortcuts, and a clear pricing FAQ make it easy to start. Onboarding for creators is less clear, and the feed's 'Show more' pagination feels dated.

Design

72

Clean, modern feed layout with seasonal campaigns and consistent typography. Feels like a polished Pinterest for AI prompts, though the dense grid can feel busy.

Speed

78

Lighthouse 94/100 on mobile and desktop, LCP 2.9s, CLS 0, TBT 88ms. Fast and stable, though LCP could be tighter for a media-heavy feed.

Security

28

HTTPS not enforced, zero security headers (no HSTS, CSP, frame protection), no DMARC. Only SPF present. No security page or compliance claims found.

Accessibility

82

Lighthouse accessibility 100/100, skip-to-content link, keyboard shortcuts. No WCAG statement or multi-language support found, but automated checks are perfect.

Growth

58

Real problem (finding working prompts) with a clear wedge: free copying, no account, creator portfolios. Broad target but plausible; early stage with no traction signals yet.

Improvement areas

  • Security headers and HTTPS enforcement are critically lacking.
  • Creator onboarding and discovery flow is unclear.
  • No WCAG statement or multi-language support.
  • Feed pagination feels dated; consider smoother loading.

Design & Usability

Promptclay's design is a competent Pinterest-for-prompts: dense image grid, seasonal banners, clean type. Usability shines with no-account copying and keyboard shortcuts, but creator onboarding and feed pagination feel half-baked. The pricing page is clear, though the Pro tier's value (custom domain, leads inbox) is niche. Overall, it's easy to consume but less clear how to contribute meaningfully.

Speed & Security

Speed is a strength: Lighthouse 94/100 on both mobile and desktop, LCP 2.9s, CLS 0. Security is the weak spot — HTTPS not enforced, zero security headers beyond SPF, no DMARC, no security page. For a site handling user accounts and creator portfolios, that's a real gap. Speed earns praise; security needs immediate attention.

Accessibility & Growth

Accessibility scores a perfect 100/100 on Lighthouse, with skip links and keyboard shortcuts, though no WCAG statement or multi-language support. Growth potential is moderate: the problem is real and the 'free to copy, no account' wedge is sharp, but the target is broad and traction is nonexistent (domain registered 2026). The idea can grow if it nails creator retention and brand adoption.

Conclusion

If you're hunting for working prompts without signing up, Promptclay delivers. If you're a creator planning to build a portfolio here, wait for the security headers to catch up. The foundation is there; the plumbing isn't.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Enforce HTTPS and add HSTS, CSP, and other security headers — 1/12 is not a passing grade.
  • Clarify creator onboarding: how do I publish a prompt, build a portfolio, and get discovered?
  • Add a WCAG accessibility statement and consider multi-language support for global reach.
  • Improve feed pagination — 'Show more' feels dated; consider infinite scroll with performance safeguards.
